Kia ora Hilton! It’s Olive again! Weather update: grey outside, a bit of wind, but I can see a little bit of blue sky! Ka pai Auckland! How’s Northland treating you? Hopefully with amazing sunshine!
I really enjoyed learning more about you! You have such an interesting background! Great work on all your details, it’s a very thoughtful and lovely post. My parents are Pākehā: my Mum is English and my Dad is Dutch. I’m a bit like you, I can only speak English (my Dad never taught me Ducth), but I’ve lived in China and I picked up some Mandarin. I later learned more of the language at University this year. I’d love to know how to speak it fluently!
I learned more about te Reo Māori this year as well! I loved learning about it so much! The culture and language is so beautiful. You are so lucky to belong to such a fantastic culture. I hope to learn more of te Reo in my teaching degree!
If you could learn another language, what language would that be?
Thank you again for a great blog post and keep up the great work!
