Addition Basic facts practice

I have been practising my addition basic facts. I wanted to get faster and more accurate. When I started this week my top score was 37. Today l scored 55.  Here are my results. 

Recount writing At Home.

At Home 17/08/17 Yesterday my mum said to me that I had to have my pump because my breathing was not so good. Chace wasn't at school because he was sick. I walked over to my bag and opened it and did my homework so then the next day I could have my spelling test and get 100 percent. After that VJ came. His mum said that he couldn't come inside because his legs were dirty. Me and VJ were talking to each other out the window. VJ’s mum and my mum were talking. I told VJ about a game on my tablet called Craft Exploration Survival. VJ told me that he came first place in cross country. He ran with people the same age as him. Then VJ’s mum said they were going shopping. I said,”Bye VJ.” He said bye back to me. I said, “See you at school.” I asked my mum if I could charge my tablet for the weekend. I said to my mum, “Hey Mum, can I play on the laptop?” She said, “Yes but only for an hour and that is it.” So I got out the laptop and played hide online. I was pressing the buttons as fast as a jet. I could see the props and hunters. I like to be props because they always win. It felt amazing because I was playing my first favorite game on the laptop. So when I was props I was the mouse and went behind the desk and stayed there until it was finished. I was the only one left. When my hour was up I put the laptop away into the bag.

Recount Writing-Playing on the PS2

I am learning to use the correct structure and language for recount writing.

                   Playing on the PS2               25/07/17         

On a warm sunny Thursday me and Chace were at home because it was the school holidays. We were thinking about what we could do for the day. I thought that maybe we could play games on Dad’s playstation. We asked our dad if we could play on his playstation. He said, “Yes but only for an hour.” So me and Chace set up the playstation. I said to Chace, “What game are you going to play?” He said, “Ben ten.” I said, “I'm playing Transformers.” Chace said, “Who's going first?” I said, “Me.” So I put in my game and sat on the chair.  I started playing my game. When I was playing it I felt terrific because I was playing my favourite game. I was pressing the buttons as fast as a bird picking with its beak.

I was staring at the tv and when my term was up I put the controller down. My hands felt like they were burning.

I said,”That was super fun.”

When Chace was finished his turn me he packed the playstation away. Dad told us it was dinner time. I said, “Yum!”

I went to the park.

On Sunday afternoon I went to the park with my family and the park was in Kaikohe.

I felt fantastic because I like going to the park.

When we got to the park we saw lots of people and lots of things to play on. I said, “Hmmm what should I play on first, maybe the swing?” I jumped on the the swing. I went as high as a bird. I felt amazing.

Next I went on the slide and I said, “Weee! I can go down fast. This is fun” I felt excellent

After that I went on the monkeybars. I felt like I was Tarzan. I was swinging and swinging.I felt terrific. Then we had to go home so we went in the car and drove home. What an awesome time at the park.

Recount Writing-Going to Kaikohe

I am learning to add ‘talking’ to make my story more interesting for my readers.

Going to Kaikohe

On Friday morning my mum said we had to go to town.

Me and Chace bolted to the car. We opened the door and jumped into our seats. My mum was driving. We were going to Kaikohe to have lunch and look around in Kaikohe. We were going to 118 Broadway and Coin Save. When we got there we got out of the car and I dashed into 118 Broadway. The first thing I saw was little toy armies. I said to Chace, “Hey Chace look at this.” The next thing I saw was bubbles and then guns but they were fake. Another thing I saw was a Ben Ten chess game. After looking around for a little while we went in to Coin Save. Me and Chace looked at the toys. I saw lego Star Wars and I saw more bubbles.  Next we went to have lunch so me and Chace walked to the car and my mum drove to LJs. I felt joyful. I was having sushi. I had three and Chace had three. We both had chocolate shakes and Chace had chips. When we were finished eating. We walked out and I said, “Yummy.” We went in the car and drove home.
